Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) Chairman – K Therie has strongly criticized the consultative meeting convened today and the state government’s unanimous conclusions on ULB polls and Naga political issues.

According to a press release issued by the NPCC, “The resolutions of the March 9, 2022 consultative meeting at State Banquet Hall, Kohima, were passed in our absence. The honorable chief minister himself said that we don’t need a resolution that we also agree on. »

“On the Naga peace process, we said in the meeting that there are two formal agreements between the Government of India and the Naga National Workers namely the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position and after more than 20 years of negotiations, issues of sovereignty and integration have been dropped, therefore, the Nagaland State Government can only push for the implementation of the agreement which will impact the people of Nagaland and this is the working committee agreement or agreed position. Thus, the 60 members who have come together for a political solution should push for the implementation of said agreement – the press release reads below.

In the meantime, the press release adds that “we cannot decide for the other States since the question of integration is no longer. Even if we decide, they will not agree and if they decide for us, even we may not agree. Therefore, the 60 MPs should focus on the welfare of the people of the state of Nagaland they represent. As for the ULB elections, we have no objection and we all agree to implement the order of the Supreme Court with some amendments proposed to the Chamber.
