Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Chairman JP Nadda will hold a meeting with members of the Uttar Pradesh BJP working committee on Friday ahead of the high-stakes assembly elections in the state next year . The meeting comes after the BJP won a comfortable victory in the recently concluded pramukh bloc elections, securing 635 of 825 seats.

“BJP National Chairman JP Nadda will address the Uttar Pradesh BJP ‘State Working Committee’ meeting via video conference on 16th July 2021 at 11.30am,” Nadda’s office tweeted on Thursday. .

During Friday’s meeting, organizational work will be reviewed and a roadmap will be prepared for the upcoming UP assembly elections, according to the ANI news agency.

Participants in the meeting will include BJP General Secretary Arun Singh, Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Mahendra Pandey, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy State Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Dr. Dinesh Sharma, BJP State Head Radha Mohan Singh and State BJP Chairman Swatantra Dev Singh also reported ANI.

Over 600 UP BJP members and 100 working committee members will also attend Friday’s meeting.

BJP state spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi told ANI that the meeting will be held in four sessions. The first session will include an inauguration by JP Nadda and the second will include a discussion on the political situation in Uttar Pradesh. In the third session, the BJP will deliberate on the upcoming programs in the organization.

“During the meeting, there will be a discussion on the strategies for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections in 2022, during which government programs, government achievements and measures for better performance will be discussed. discussed,” Tripathi added.

The BJP is keen to remain the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh for the second consecutive time. Next year’s assembly elections in the UP are also crucial for the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where it seeks to take power in the Center for a third consecutive term.

In the 2017 assembly elections in the UP, the BJP won 325 out of 403 seats, the Samajwadi Party and its allies including the Congress Party won 54 seats while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) n won only 19 seats.

This time, the SP and the BSP ruled out any major alliance. On the other hand, the Congress has also decided to fight the elections alone and is seeking to make a comeback in Uttar Pradesh after more than three decades.
