The BJP Rajasthan working committee on Saturday introduced a resolution criticizing the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government on various issues, including law and order and agricultural loan waiver, and alleged that there is a “ atmosphere of economic emergency” in the state.
During a press briefing, BJP leader Rajendra Rathore, who is part of the committee, also claimed that the budget deficit had increased and the debt had exceeded Rs 4.57 lakh crore.
However, Chief Minister Gehlot called the resolution a “package of lies” and claimed the BJP was making false claims.
On the first day of a two-day BJP working committee meeting, the party also introduced the resolution to express its gratitude to the prime minister for the work done by the central government.
Attacking the state government, Rathore said, “There is an atmosphere of economic emergency in Rajasthan today under the rule of Congress. The budget deficit has increased and the debt has exceeded Rs 4.57 lakh crore.”
“The Congress government has presented three budgets, the state government has done the job of cutting the annual plan in every budget, the government is in an economic emergency today,” said Rathore, deputy chief of opposition to the state assembly.
He said leaving aside all important issues, the state government is currently focusing on the wedding function of Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. The wedding takes place in Sawai Madhopur.
Hitting the BJP opposition for the resolution, Gehlot said the resolution was a pack of lies. He said that after Congress took power in 2018, the party won six out of eight assembly by-elections held in the state.
This reflects the people’s confidence in the governance of Congress, Gehot said. He said the BJP candidates finished third and fourth in the partial polls and their security money was confiscated.
“Frightened and outraged by the defeat, the BJP state chairman, union ministers and other leaders continue to make false claims by misusing resources,” Gehlot said.
He tweeted that the BJP working committee resolution is a pack of lies. “Only lies are written there on every issue, including farmer loan waiver, Kisan Mitra energy program, Covid management. It is beyond facts and logic,” Gehlot said. .
On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come and endorse this package of lies,” he said.
“People in the state are smart. They have recognized the character and face of BJP. Also in the past, the people of Rajasthan gave an appropriate response to the Home Minister and this time too they will not fall in their trap, no matter how much propaganda they do,” Gehlot added. Shah will address the closing session of the working committee meeting.
