KLANG, April 3 – The MIC’s 74th General Assembly today unanimously passed a motion to empower its Central Working Committee (CWC) to determine the party’s cooperation with any political coalition in the 15th general election.

The motion was tabled by MIC Vice President Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, who is also the Minister of Human Resources.

Saravanan said the motion was tabled under Article 6.3 of the party constitution to empower the Indian community party to protect and promote the political, economic, cultural and social interests of the community in the country.

At a press conference later, Saravanan, also an MP for Tapah, clarified that the CWC would only take a resolution after studying the decision of the Supreme Council of the Barisan Nasional (BN), the party’s grassroots voice. and the aspirations of the people.

Previously, the assembly held in Klang was chaired by its president, Tan Sri SA Vigneswaran.

The hybrid assembly brought together over 2,000 delegates with over 400 physically present and the remaining delegates attending virtually. — Bernama
