APC Chairman in Rivers State, Chief Emeka Bekee said the days of people posing as party leaders are over.

Emeka, revealed at the inauguration of the state working committee and state executive committee of the party in Port Harcourt today.

According to him, he has the mandate of duly elected chairman of the party, adding that anyone trying to impersonate him will face the law.

The president of the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has warned that the days of individuals impersonating elected Party leaders in the state are over.

Chief Emeka Beke said this during the inauguration of the Party’s State Work Committee (SWC) and State Executive Committee (EXCO) on Monday in Port Harcourt.

Speaking at the event, Chief Beke said, “No man will ever claim to be APC State President after today except me. I have my tenure as the duly elected chairman of this party in Rivers State. If he tries, he will have to face the law.

Chief Beke also signified to the Governor of Rivers State, Mr Nyesom Wike, that he was ready to engage the APC in a fair contest as 2023 approached and not to use the judiciary to undermine and destabilize the APC.

“If the governor is a man, he should come out into the field and participate in elections with the APC without resorting to the misuse of the judiciary of the state to undermine and destabilize our Party,” Chief Beke challenged.

Earlier, Chief Beke who arrived at Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, in front of a huge crowd of Party leaders and members, led a long procession to the Party State Secretariat, where he immediately proceeded to the inauguration.

In his speech, Chief Beke thanked God, the APC leader in the state, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and party members for the opportunity to serve as party state chairman after being overwhelmingly voted in at the last party state convention.

“Allow me first of all to thank the Almighty God who makes all things beautiful in his time for giving me life to see this day. Praise his name alone in the name of Jesus.

“Please join me in thanking my leader, our leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for being the tool God used to bring me to this enviable position full of enormous challenges. I pray to Almighty God to give me the grace and wisdom to lead our Party to victory in 2023.

“This is a new dawn in the history of our Party. I assure all Party members of a level playing field and equal opportunity.

“This is the era of pursuing, overcoming and reclaiming all that the enemy has stolen from our dear Rivers State. Together, by mutual agreement, we shall succeed in the name of Jesus,” the leader summed up Beke.

Among those inaugurated are Mr. Omiete Eferebo (Vice President); Hon. Sam Sam Etetegwung (Secretary of State); Mr. Fredrick Oyor (Deputy Secretary of State); Obidinma Igwe (Senate Vice President 1, Rivers East); Pius Kpai (Senate Vice President 2, Rivers South-East); and Emine Awoala Joybel (Senate Vice President 3, Rivers West). Others are Dike Iheanyichukwu, Esq. (Jural advisor); Akwe Maxwell Teh (Treasurer); Chigbo John (financial secretary); Christian Don-Pedro (organizing secretary); Senibo Chris Finebone (publicity secretary); Tamuno Nancy Stephen (welfare secretary); Chidi Nweke (Auditor); Beatrice Dappa Amobi (female leader); Comrade Gbarato Baridakara (Youth Leader); and Enyinda Chike (Special/Physically Challenged Leader), among others.
