On March 26, the judgment Congress of All Progressives (APC) held its elective national congress.

During the convention, the officers of the National Working Committee (NWC) and zonal chapters were elected. Most leaders emerged by consensus.

Below is the complete list of elected officials.

1. National President, Abdullahi Adamu: (Nasarawa State)

The 75-year-old former Nasarawa state governor and sitting senator emerged by consensus after six other candidates withdrew hours before the poll. He was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he contested and won the state governorship twice, between May 1999 and 2007.

2. National Vice President (North): Abubakar Kyari (Borno State)

Abba Kyari is 58 years old. He is from Borno State. He served as state commissioner and chief of staff to the state governor before serving as a member of the House of Representatives and representing the Upstate Senate District in the upper legislative chamber. In the 8th Senate, Mr. Kyari chaired the Defense and INEC Committees and was a member of other committees, permanent and ad hoc.

3. National Vice President (South): Emma Eneukwu (Enugu State)

Mr. Eneukwu is from Udi in Enugu State. He was National Publicity Secretary of the defunct ANPP, Acting National Welfare Secretary of the APC and National Vice President of the APC Southeast before his election on Saturday. He served as Chairman of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and last year he was appointed Chairman of the Board of Project Development Institute (PRODA), Enugu.

4. National Secretary: Lyiola Omisore (Osun State)

He served as Deputy Governor of Osun State for a term between 1999 and 2003 under Bisi Akande. The 65-year-old royal Ife then served as Senator for Osun East between 2003 and 2011. Mr Omisore joined the APC 13 months ago after playing a leading role in the election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the 2018 rerun. A former member of the Alliance for Democracy, he previously ran for governor under the PDP and the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

5. Deputy National Secretary: Festus Fuanter (Plateau State)

A lawyer by profession, Mr. Fuanter, like the two previous ones, was a former member of the PDP.

6. National Vice-President: (center-north): Muhazu Rijau (State of Niger)

7. National Vice President (North East): Mustapha Salihu (Adamawa State)

Perhaps one of Adams Oshiomhole’s headaches in the old NWC, Mr Salihu was a member of the party organ who strongly opposed Mr Oshiomhole’s style of leadership. He was the National Vice President, North East during the NWC led by Mr. Oshiomhole and was also named a member of the zoning committee ahead of the APC convention that just ended.

8. National Vice President (North West): Salihu Lukman (Kaduna State)

Prior to his resignation in January, Mr. Lukman was chief executive of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), a post he used to express his reservations about the party leadership. He was also a strong voice in Mr Oshiomhole’s leadership prowess and also noted the shortcomings of the interim leadership led by Mala Buni.

9. National Vice President (South East): Ijeomah Arodiogbu (Imo State)

Mr Arodiogbu is a senior lecturer in the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imo State University. He once chaired a ward congress committee in Enugu State where scorecards are said to have disappeared.

10. National Vice President (South-South): Victor Giadom (Rivers State)

A former deputy general secretary of the APC, Mr Giadom grabbed headlines at the height of the crisis that rocked the party in 2020 when he declared himself party chairman as Mr Oshiomhole faced challenges. trial. His candidacy passed the consensus CPA nominee after governors met to sign off. He is an ally of Nigerian Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi. He is from Rivers State.

11. National Vice President (South West): Isaac Kekemeke (Ondo State)

A strong supporter of Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Mr. Kekemeke is a former Chairman of APC in Ondo State. He ran in the last APC gubernatorial primary but lost to Mr Akeredolu, who was seeking a second term.

12. National Legal Adviser: Ahmed El-Marzuk (Katsina State)

Mr. El-Marduk was a former State Attorney General and Justice Commissioner of Katsina State.

13. National Treasurer: Uguru Ofoke (Ebonyi State)

15. National Organizing Secretary: Suleiman Argungu (Kebbi State)

Mr. Argungu is the Head of State to Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu.

16. National Youth Leader: Dayo Israel (Lagos State)

Highly favored by his state governor, Babajide Sanwolu, Mr Israel, 36, clinched the title of national youth leader among four other aspirants vying for the spot. Mr. Israel is a former presidential candidate from Lagos Mainland.
