NC convenes Budgam, Sgr working committee meets

Members discuss current situation, party issues

Srinagar, November 25: The district working committee convened by the national conference on Thursday is meeting for Budgam and Srinagar districts at their party offices in Budgam and Srinagar respectively.

According to a party statement, the Srinagar working committee meeting was chaired by DP Peer Afaq Ahmed. State Women’s Wing Chairperson ShameemaFirdous, Irfan Shah, Provincial Women’s Wing Chairperson Er. SabiyaQadri also attended the meeting.

The meeting was marked by discussions on issues concerning the people and the party. During the span of the interaction, the individual members also highlighted the looming insecurity and political instability in Kashmir, especially in Srinagar, the central districts of Kashmir, which have seen the escalation of killings of civilians, unemployment, development deficit and administrative inertia, according to the statement.

According to the statement, in Budgam, the meeting was chaired by Central Zone President Ali Mohammad Dar and was attended by DP Abdul Ahad Dar, Dr Mohammad Shafi, Ghulam NabiBhat, DP YNC Rais Ahmad Mattoo, bloc presidents and other district officials. The leaders said the looming insecurity, deteriorating security situation, upsurge in civilian killings, resurgent bunkers and growing political vacuum in Kashmir correspond to the situation in the 1990s.

“The current government of Jammu and Kashmir has shrunk to a boot to push a new undemocratic model down the throats of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, thereby superseding their wishes and aspirations,” the leaders said.
