New Delhi [India]May 6 (ANI): A meeting of the Congress Working Committee will be held on May 9 before the party’s “Chintan Shivir” in Udaipur.
The meeting would deliberate on the agenda of the Chintan Shivir. “A Congress Working Committee meeting will be held on Monday 9th May 2022 at 4:30 p.m. at AICC Office, 24 Akbar Road, New Delhi to discuss “Nav Sankalp Shivir – 2022” to be held from 13th to 15th May 2022 in Udaipur, Rajasthan,” party general secretary KC Venugopal said in a tweet.
The Chintan Shivir stands against the backdrop of the party’s beating in the five state assembly elections earlier this year. The party has suffered several electoral defeats in elections held over the past eight years. Congress has also seen the exit of some of its prominent faces.
After a presentation and discussions with poll strategist Prashant Kishor, Congresswoman Sonia Gandhi last month formed a 2024 Empowered Action Group and invited him to join the party as part of the Defined Accountability Group.
He had declined the “generous offer” and said that “more than me, the party needs leadership and collective will to solve deep-rooted structural problems through transformational reforms”.
Congress will also hold organizational polls this year to elect a new party leader.
